Synopsis of J. Edgar

FBI Director Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio), who is over 70 years old, was invited by "Crime Chronicle" to give an oral personal memoir. Hoover told the ghostwriter of his memoirs his important life journey since 1919: arresting left-wing leaders, arresting notorious gang leaders, solving the Lindbergh kidnapping case that shocked the United States, etc. According to Hoover's account, he fought against all odds, reorganized the FBI, introduced high-tech investigative methods, and devoted himself to the peace and stability of American society. However, on the other hand, his private life has become a part that he tries his best to hide. Even as Hoover looked back on his life, there were still many turbulent factors in American society. Hoover's personal assistant Clyde Tolson (played by Armie Hammer) who has been employed by Hoover for many years also seems to have maintained an unusual relationship with him...
