Synopsis of Weiner

Many politicians have experienced political career decline, but few movies can fully capture the profound and deeply funny side of Weiner. With unprecedented interviews with Anthony Weiner himself and his family, as well as his New York City mayoral campaign, the film chronicles the impending political events. The story began with the former congressman's unexpected return to politics, but took a turn for the worse when Weiner was forced to plead guilty to new sexting charges. The media kept digging and exposing his every move. Weiner desperately wanted to forge ahead, but the increasing pressure and severe 24-hour news coverage ruined his political ambitions. Weiner's political farce and personal tragedy exposed the former congressman's arrogance while also criticizing the ugly side of the media's attacks on his family. Set against the loud and lively backdrop of New York City, the film reveals the nature of an increasingly common political movement in an incredibly unflinching, humorous, and pathos way.
