Synopsis of Splinter

Seth (Paulo Costanzo), a Ph.D. in biology, and his wife Paulie (Jill Wagner) drove to the countryside for a trip. On the way, they met another couple. Dennis (played by Shea Whigham) and Lacey (played by Rachel Kerbs) are a pair of desperate mandarin ducks. They hope to start a new life in Mexico illegally, but their car breaks down on the road. So Dennis hijacks the Seths' car and takes them hostage. Baoli, who was driving a car, accidentally ran over a strange creature, causing the car's tire to burst. Everyone got out of the car to check, and Seth was surprised to find that the crushed animal still showed signs of life. In panic, they fled to a gas station, but soon discovered that they were surrounded by an unknown creature covered with thorns...
