Synopsis of Playing for Time

This film won the Emmy Award for Best Picture, Best Actress and many other awards. It is a heartfelt TV movie with blood and tears, directed by the famous dramatist Arthur. Miller is based on the Thai-American singer Fanny. Adapted from Fenillo's memoir, it describes the true story of the Jews struggling to survive in the concentration camps during World War II. Fanny was a famous singer in Paris. During the war, she and other Jews were sent to a labor camp in Munich and imprisoned. All female prisoners were required to strip naked, have their heads shaved, and have numbers tattooed on their arms before being sent to concentration camps. There, people were sent to the gas chambers for collective massacre every day. Some young female prisoners did not hesitate to sell themselves to the German soldiers guarding them in exchange for a piece of bread. Fortunately, Fanny and some female prisoners who knew how to play musical instruments were selected to form an orchestra. On the one hand, they provided entertainment for the black shirt officers, and on the other hand, they played for the funeral prisoners sent to the gas chambers. It was in such a harsh environment that completely stripped away human self-esteem that these women struggled to survive. Vanessa. Redgrave and Jane. Alexander performs superbly in the film.
