Synopsis of The Shape of Water

The story takes place in 1963, during the Cold War, the mute woman Elisa (Sally Hawkins) works in the government laboratory as a cleaning woman. When she was young, a serious illness took away Elisa's voice. From then on, she lived a solitary life in silence. Her only friends were the old painter (Richard Jenkins) and her colleagues. Zelda (Octavia Spencer). One day, a high-alert alarm sounded in the laboratory, and a mysterious jar filled with water was brought in. Alyssa was shocked to find that the jar contained a strange creature that was half human and half fish. Under the leadership of Richard (Michael Shannon), the team of scientists wanted to extract a substance capable of making biological weapons from this monster, but in Alyssa's eyes, it was just a lonely monster like herself.
