Synopsis of Eight and a Half

Film director Guido (Marcello Mastroianni) felt exhausted after completing a film. He came to a sanatorium to rest while starting to conceive of the next film. He was plagued by nightmares, depressed and his inspiration stalled. He asked his mistress Carla (Sandra Milo) to come to the resort to keep him company, but Carla's arrival only added to his troubles. At this time, the appearance of the energetic young girl Claudia (Claudia Cardinale) brings a bright light to Guido's depressed world. However, as Guido's wife Luisa (played by Anouk Aimée) and many people in the film industry came to the resort, Guido could not bear the dual pressure of the chaos of his personal love life and the pressure of filming, and his mental crisis intensified. , dreams and hallucinations continue to invade his real life...
