Synopsis of Dragnet

A murder occurred in Los Angeles, USA. The criminal left a business card signed "A Man Against Virtue and Normalcy" at the scene. Detectives Joe Fryday and Strebek were responsible for investigating the case. Based on the clues they obtained, they captured Maz and learned from him that Caesar had placed him in an organization called PAGAN. At a secret meeting held by the organization, a masked priest pushed a virgin in a wedding dress as a sacrifice into a pond with pythons. Fryday and Strebek rescued her. This woman named Connie was kidnapped by Pastor Jonathan Worley, leader of the "Crusader to Destroy Vice and Sin". Fryday arrested Wally, but the grumpy female Sheriff Kirkpatrick was furious. She ordered Fryday to release Wally and make him surrender his badge. Maz captures Fryday and Connie, and Strebek rescues them. Wally attempts to kill Caesar, the mayor, and Kirk Patritt, but his plot is foiled by Fryday and Strebek. In order to escape, Wally takes Connie as a hostage, but Fryday once again foils his wishful thinking and finally wins Connie's heart.
