Synopsis of Highway to Hellas

In order to develop tourism, the residents of the Greek island of Paratici borrowed money from a German bank for infrastructure construction. Bank investigators went to the island for an on-site inspection. What will happen between the Germans and the Greeks who dislike each other? This German comedy film exploits the stereotypes of the German and Greek people towards each other, and throws out one laugh after another on the Mediterranean island: riding a donkey to cross the mountains with difficulty, swimming naked at night leading to misunderstandings, the two countries’ differences. Reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance, and the theme of rediscovering oneself makes people feel a sense of warmth while being hilarious. Won the "Busan Bank" Special Award at the 20th Busan International Film Festival.
