Synopsis of Song of the Little Road

In a small village in Bengal, India, at the beginning of the 20th century. The hardship of life makes the poor families in the village full of depression, worry and discord. Harihar wrote a poem and a script, but he encountered obstacles everywhere and could not be published. Six years have passed, and Harihar's house has become even more dilapidated, and poverty has always accompanied them. Endless troubles plague them. When the rich man lost something, Lai Durga stole it. Although his wife Sarbogya did not want to endure this insult, she could only vent her anger on the child. Harihar hopes to revive his already ruined "family" by becoming famous in one fell swoop. However, his meager income of eight rupees per month and the heavy family burden have prevented him from realizing all his beautiful plans. It is impossible to keep the family fed. He had no choice but to go to a foreign country to find a way out, and went to the city to earn a fortune of hard-earned money. Unexpectedly, when he returned home, what awaited him was a huge disaster: the storm destroyed the house, and his twelve-year-old daughter Durga also died. After dying of illness, Sarbogia burst into tears. Seeing this miserable scene, Harihar had no choice but to lead his wife and children to leave his hometown and find another way to make a living. Only Durga rested here.
