Synopsis of They Wait

Chinese-American Jason (Terry Chen) and white woman Sarah (Jaime King) are married and live in Shanghai all year round. In order to attend a funeral, they returned to North America with their 6-year-old son Sam. However, bizarre events happened one after another, and Sam kept encountering ghosts. Finally, he was fascinated by a ghost one night and fell unconscious. The Jasons sought medical treatment everywhere but to no avail. Seeing their son's condition getting worse, they had no choice but to seek help from a witch doctor. I learned from the witch doctor that the ghost month was approaching, wild ghosts were rampant, and Sam's soul was taken away by a ghost who died unjustly. Jason can only save his son's life by helping the ghosts fulfill their wishes. Jason had no choice but to agree, but as a result he uncovered a brutal murder that had been hidden for many years...
