Synopsis of The Browning Version

The story takes place in a British school, where classical literature teacher Harris (Albert Finney) is about to usher in his retirement day. Taplow (Ben Silverstone) is a student that Harris likes very much. However, Taplow told Harris that he decided to give up classical literature and instead study science. Afterwards, the principal found Harris and told him the bad news that the school was not prepared to pay him a pension. When Harris's wife Laura (Greta Scacchi) learned the news Later, a fierce quarrel broke out between her and her husband. In fact, Laura had already betrayed Harris, and she had maintained an improper relationship with a man named Frank (Matthew Modine). As the retirement ceremony approaches, it seems Harris' life will never go back to what it was before.
