Synopsis of First Cow

The story is adapted from Jonathan Raymond's novel "Half-Life", which Raymond and director Richard co-adapted. It is set in Oregon in the 1820s (i.e., the 1820s), where a Western cook Cookie (John Magaro) came to the wild west to try his luck, and met King Lu (Orion Lee), a Chinese immigrant who also came to look for opportunities. The two hit it off and started a business partnership with a cow.
