Synopsis of The Thirty Nine Steps

The story takes place on the eve of the outbreak of the world war. British Richard (Robert Powell) is an engineer. By chance, he obtained the password left by a former British agent. With a strong sense of justice, he decided to expose the German secret agent. The assassination plot planned by the spy was fiercely pursued by the German spy agency. In this way, Richard embarked on a journey to escape. On the way, he met Pamela (played by Karen Dotrice), the daughter of a congressman. Pamela provided protection and help for Richard who was in danger. In the process, , the two people who are attracted to each other gradually come together. With Pamela's help, Richard finally got in touch with the police and counterintelligence agencies, and deciphered the code in his hands at a critical moment. He came to the engine room of the London Clock, where he found the switch that controlled the terrorist bomb, saving thousands of lives.
