Synopsis of The Substitute

On a planet millions of light years away from the earth, the advanced life forms here seem to have only hatred and war between each other. As the war spreads and deaths increase, they finally reach the edge of extinction. In order to save their own nation, these aliens sent envoys to the earth to learn from humans an emotion they never had - love. The messenger came to Earth, entered the body of Ulla (played by Paprika Steen), and entered the sixth-year Class B of an elementary school as a substitute teacher to teach. Ulla's strong style and omniscient knowledge astonished this group of ignorant students. Not only did the students doubt her true identity... The film won the 2008 Danish Film Critics Award for Best Cinematography.
