Synopsis of Kesari

This historical drama shows the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. The film focuses on Sergeant Isha Singh. He was stationed at one of the three forts in the Salmon Mountains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the then Indo-Afghan border. Because he disobeyed his superior's orders and rescued an Afghan girl from religious elements, he was transferred to the Saragarhi Fortress as an information transfer station. The Afghan religious elements used this excuse to seize three fortresses in one fell swoop. The first thing to attack was the Saragarhi Fortress as a transit point. Sergeant Isha Singh led a platoon of 21 Sikhs to fight against the Afghan invading army of more than 10,000 people. They fought bloody battles and delayed the offensive of the Afghan invading army. The conspiracy of the three fortresses, however, all 21 warriors were killed and died heroically. This event is considered the greatest Last Stand in history.
