Synopsis of Gold

The film is based on the infamous 1993 Bre-X gold mining company fraud case. Bre-X Gold Mining Company is a Canadian gold mining company built in a basement. It was listed on the Alberta Stock Exchange in July 1989. At that time, it was only a junk stock of about 25 cents per share. Later, the company bought the mining rights of the Indonesian mine. By mixing gold powder into the rocks, they created the illusion that the mine's ore contained extremely high gold content. The price of the company's stock was like a wild horse, and by April 1996 , their stock price has soared to 200 yuan. In October 1996, the Bre-X gold mining company's fraud was exposed, but the assets of thousands of investors had already fallen into the pockets of the company's founders, geologists and others. The story of "Gold Mine" tells the story of Kenny Wells, a modern prospector played by Matthew McConaughey, who is eager to explore a big mine. Guided by this dream, Wells teamed up with a similarly unlucky geologist on a desperate expedition to search for gold deep in an unknown rainforest in Indonesia. Bryce Dallas Howard will play McConaughey's character's girlfriend Kay, who always supports her boyfriend...
