Synopsis of Soapdish

Celeste (played by Sally Field) is an actress who is participating in a TV series called "The Sun Sets Again." Joining her are the young and beautiful Lori (played by Elisabeth Shue) and the scheming Montana (played by Cathy Moriarty) who wants to replace Celeste. In order to embarrass Celeste, Montana persuades producer David (Robert Downey Jr.) to invite Celeste's old lover Jeffrey (Kevin Kline), who Jeffrey, who knew he was a philanderer, fell in love with Lori all of a sudden. What everyone didn't expect was that Lori's true identity turned out to be the illegitimate daughter of Celeste and Jeffrey. As the finale of the TV series was about to take place, everyone exposed their secrets.
