# Synopsis of The Confession of a Child of the Century

British rock star Pete Doherty (31 years old) is about to make his screen debut. He will play the French poet, Novelist Musset, and starring opposite him is the famous French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg (39 years old). This new film is adapted from Samuel Samuel's autobiographical novel of the same name published in 1836. It mainly tells the romance between the young Samuel and the famous female writer George Sand, who is 6 years older. "Confessions of a Century" creates a typical image of a libertine who is dissatisfied with society but has no intention of opposing it, who is a little mocking and a little disgusted in the face of the dark reality, who is half pursuing freedom and half frustrated. This is where the term "disease of the century" comes from. In 1999, "Love in the World" starring Benoit Magimet and Juliette Binoche (originally titled "Century") was also adapted from this work. "Confessions of a Century" is co-produced by France, the United Kingdom and Germany and will start filming in January next year.
