Synopsis of Thurgood

Thurgood Marshall was the first African American to serve as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. He served on the Supreme Court from 1967 until his retirement in 1991; before taking this position, Marshall served as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. As a lawyer for the NAACP, he helped win the 1954 desegregation case - Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas - and he devoted his life to using the law to win the case. Citizenship and social justice. Thurgood Marshall is a hero of the 20th century in the United States: the "Brown v. Board of Education" case he took on and won led to the abolition of racial segregation laws in the United States. He later became a U.S. Supreme Court justice and remained committed to advancing the rights of all Americans, including minorities, women, and immigrants.
