Synopsis of The Idiots
Karen (Bodil Jørgensen), a housewife who has just suffered the loss of a child, is sensitive and fragile. She wandered the streets of Copenhagen in despair, and when eating in a restaurant, she met an idiot who held her hand tightly. Out of sympathy, Karen followed him all the way and witnessed a group of "idiots" who pretended to be crazy all day long. In fact, these young men and women are not really mentally retarded. They are normal people led by Stouffer (Jens Albinus) pretending to be idiots.
