A mysterious woman Grace (Nicole Kidman) broke into the closed and conservative American town. She is beautiful and kind, and is on the run from gangsters. Tom, a writer in the town, urged the villagers to keep the woman and let her temporarily avoid difficulties in the town. However, the condition is that Grace must do various farm work to repay. People agreed, but soon discovered that Grace was a wanted fugitive. Everyone wanted to drive Grace away, but finally agreed that if she worked harder, she could stay here. Grace worked day and night, but eventually something unfortunate happened. A townie raped Grace after a police raid. The dirty things began: people began to insult her casually, and even Tom unveiled the mask of kindness. Grace became a dog in the town, working and suffering, and her kind heart gradually grew. Change. The people in the town never imagined that this woman's mysterious life experience would turn the insult at this moment into a disaster in the future.
