Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

Synopsis of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

After temporarily bidding farewell to her mother, the little girl Sally (played by Bailee Madison) takes a plane alone to a foreign place to reunite with her father Alex (played by Guy Pearce). Sally's parents' divorce made her depressed, and she naturally didn't have much interest in her father's new girlfriend Jim (Katie Holmes). After a bumpy journey, Sally arrived at her father's newest apartment, a 19th-century mansion in the suburbs. This house previously belonged to the well-known animal painter Blackwood (Garry McDonald), but the painter mysteriously disappeared in the end. While playing, Sally stumbles upon a basement. In order to please his daughter, Alex forced open the dusty room despite the administrator's warning. At the same time, mysterious and terrifying events happened one after another, and the secrets of the ancient house were gradually revealed... This film is adapted from the 1973 ABC TV movie of the same name.
