Synopsis of Riding in Cars with Boys

Beverly (Drew Barrymore) is a girl who dreams of being a writer. Her father is a policeman and her boyfriend Ray is a drug addict. When her boyfriend learned that Beverly was pregnant with his child, he decided to marry her. However, marriage cannot change Ray. He is not motivated, does not care about his family, and even spent the money that should have been spent on his son's medical treatment because of drug abuse. Beverly could no longer bear to let this man continue to ruin her and her son's lives, so she broke up with him. But the young son could not understand what his mother did, and the gap between mother and son became wider and wider. However, the mess of life did not defeat Beverly.
