Synopsis of Misbehaviour

It tells the story of the 1970 Miss World beauty pageant, an international event watched by hundreds of millions of viewers around the world. A newly formed feminist organization believed that the pageant demeaned women, so they strongly opposed it. During the competition, they even rushed to the stage in full view of the public to disrupt and hinder the progress of the competition. Although they were immediately expelled from the venue and the competition continued, a scene that touched the nerves of the audience was immediately staged: the winner that night was not the popular Miss Sweden, but Jennifer Hosten from Grenada, an island country in the West Indies. The dark horse appearance became the first black woman in history to win. In just one hour, audiences around the world witnessed patriarchy being openly challenged and Western aesthetics completely subverted. A beauty pageant stirred up a thousand waves and also laid a good fight for the feminist movement.
