Synopsis of Mary Poppins Returns

It was recently revealed that Disney is planning to make a sequel to the 1964 musical "Mary Poppins", which will be directed by Rob Marshall, who won the Academy Award for Best Picture for "Chicago." It is reported that the script for the sequel to "Mary Poppins Returns" was written by David Magee, the screenwriter of "Finding Neverland" and "Life of Pi", and the story is set 20 years after the 1964 movie. It's still Mary Poppins and the Banks family. As a musical, the music creation of "Mary Poppins Returns 2" is also a top priority. For this reason, Rob Marshall specially found Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the music composers of "Hairspray", who will work on this film. The sequel features original songs and a new soundtrack.
