Synopsis of I Come with the Rain

Los Angeles police officer Klein (Josh Hartnett) was brutally humiliated while handling the case. Criminals are bloodthirsty and like to dismember living people. Klein was seriously injured but still survived by chance, but it left a shadow in his heart and was forced to be dismissed. Three years later, a wealthy Chinese businessman commissioned Klein to help find his missing son Shi Tao (played by Takuya Kimura). When he came to Hong Kong, he was greeted by his friend Mencius (played by Shawn Yue), who is also a policeman. At the police station, Klein passed Shi Tao. Subsequently, a murder occurred in the wilderness. Mencius suspected that the incident was caused by a homeless man (played by Li Cansen), and the two rushed to the scene. At the same time, the lover Lily (Tran Nu Yên-Khê) of the gang leader Su Dongpo (played by Byung-hun Lee) was kidnapped by the gangsters. The latter drove away and came to the wilderness, but was shot dead. During the investigation, Klein gradually discovered the subtle relationship between Lily, Li Bingxian, and Shi Tao... This film is the return of Vietnamese director Chen Yingxiong after a 7-year hiatus. It was selected into the competition section of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival.
