Synopsis of The Serpent

In 1975 and 1976, a series of crimes occurred in Thailand, Nepal and India. Young Western travelers were killed one after another. Charles Sobra, disguised as a gem merchant, wandered along this "hippie road" in Asia. Gee and his girlfriend Marie-André Ray Clark (Jenna Coleman) become the prime suspects. Unintentionally drawn into this tangled criminal network, Herman Knipember (Billy Hall), a junior diplomat at the Dutch Embassy in Thailand, is contacted by other witnesses who have witnessed Sobhraj's Manipulating people's hearts, and together with Herman's spouse Angela (played by Ellie Bambo) and police from various countries, he helped Herman launch a special chain operation to list Sobhraj as the most wanted criminal by Interpol. Arrest warrants were issued on multiple continents. The eight-episode limited series stars Tahar Rahim as Charles Soublei, Jenna Coleman as Marie-André Leclerc, and Billy Howle as Herman Knippenberg; Ellie Bamboo plays Angela Kniper, Amesh Adilwela plays Ajay Chowdhury, and Tim McNerney plays Paul Simmons, among others.
