Synopsis of Confucius

In the sixth century BC, Confucius (played by Chow Yun-fat) was appreciated by Lu Dinggong (played by Yao Lu) and was promoted from supervisor to chief minister, which allowed him to implement his own governing philosophy of governing the country by etiquette. However, Sanhuan's dominance of the imperial court also made Confucius feel a lot of resistance. He had a grudge against Ji Huanzi (played by Chen Jianbin) because he prevented his slaves from being buried with him. He accompanied Lu Dinggong to the Qi National Congress, fought wits and courage with Qi Jinggong (played by Ma Jingwu) and the senior official Li Ji (played by Wang Huichun), safeguarded the interests of the Lu State, and regained the three cities, so he became the acting prime minister. He proposed the policy of conquering the three capitals, which triggered the rebellion of the ministers. After suppressing the rebellion, Ji Huanzi falsely conveyed the imperial edict and deposed Confucius. From then on, Confucius led Yan Hui (Ren Quan), Zi Lu and other disciples to travel around the world. In the state of Wei, Confucius was respected by Duke Ling of Wei and received a salary of 60,000 shi. He met Nanzi (played by Zhou Xun), the wife of Wei Linggong, and showed an upright gentleman's demeanor during the conversation... The theme song of the film "Youlan Cao" is the comeback song of the singer Faye Wong after many years of silence.
