Synopsis of Space Cowboys

At the beginning of the 21st century, a satellite belonging to the former Soviet Union suddenly malfunctioned and could crash into the United States at any time. This made officials of the United States Space Agency (NASA) extremely nervous. NASA planned to send astronauts to outer space to repair satellites, but it did not find any technicians who were familiar with the technology of the time. The so-called emergency medical treatment, a few retired old guys just surfaced. They are Frank Coven (Clint Eastwood), Hawkins (Tommy Lee Jones), Jerry O'Neill (Donald Sutherland) and Tank Sullivan (James Garner). In the 1950s, they were originally going to be the first team members to fly into space, but they regretted it for the rest of their lives because of the adjustment of their plans. Now, that troublesome satellite can finally make their dream of flying into space come true... The film won the 2001 Japan Movie Newspaper Best Foreign Language Film Award and the 2001 Japan Mainichi Movie Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
