Synopsis of Contact

Ellie Arroway (Jodie Foster) has been fascinated by radio communications since she was a child. When she grew up, she became an astronomer whose project involved receiving signals from outer space. She hopes to use this to find the existence of other civilizations in the universe. The genius' ideal was met with a cold shoulder by investors. Fortunately, a mysterious man helped Ellie continue her work. By chance, Ellie received a frequency signal from Vega, which seemed to prove that Ellie's work all along was correct. But this brings not the success of her personal career, but conflicts and discussions from all angles of politics, society, religion, and the country. Ellie, who is caught in the center of all these storms, also has to face the emotional entanglement with the clergyman Palmer Jesse (Matthew McConaughey). Individuals and the world, truth and reality, Ellie faces challenges that go far beyond the scope of academics.
