Synopsis of Splash

When Alan Ball (Tom Hanks) was a child, he saw the legendary mermaid in the waves of Cape Cod, and this experience was deeply rooted in his mind. Twenty years later, Allen has grown into a handsome young man. He is busy all day long, but true love has never come. One day, Allen returned to Cape Cod and accidentally fell into the water. Just at the critical moment, a beautiful mermaid (Daryl Hannah) appeared and saved his life. Not long after, the mermaid concealed her tail and came to New York to look for Allen, and the two fell in love. A modern urban legendary love begins, but in this materialistic city, where will their love go... The film won the 1985 American Science Fiction and Horror Film Academy Best Actress Award (Daryl Hannah) and the 1985 American National Society of Film Critics Best Screenplay Award.
