Synopsis of Burning

Lee Jong-su (played by Yoo Ah-in), a young man who aims to become a writer, supports himself through part-time jobs. His father, who runs the livestock industry, is unkind and is involved in lawsuits, forcing Zhong Xiu to run around again to save his father. On this day, Zhongxiu reunited with her classmate Shin Hye-mi (played by Jeon Jong-sook) in a large supermarket. Huimei plans to travel to Africa in the near future, so she asks Zhongxiu to take care of her cat Boil. Soon after Huimei returned to China, a man named Ben (played by Steven Yeun) got off the plane with her. Ben drives a Porsche and lives in a high-end apartment. He enjoys leisurely life, has no work, and has fun everywhere. Compared with Zhong Xiu, he is like heaven and earth. For some reason, Ben got involved in the lives of civilians Zhongxiu and Huimei, and even told his new friends about his peculiar hobbies. After the night at Zhong Xiu's house, Huimei seemed to have disappeared without a trace... The film is adapted from Haruki Murakami's short story "Barnburning."
