# Synopsis of The Interrupters

This film tells the touching story of three protagonists who are committed to preventing violence in the Chicago communities where they once worked. The protagonists of the film, "Violence Interrupters," all work for an innovative organization called CeaseFire. The organization was founded by epidemiologist Gary Slutkin, who believes that violence spreads like disease, so treatments should track the most infected, find the source and eliminate them. Interrupters have very high credibility in the community because of their own experiences, and their job is to intervene in conflicts and stop them before they turn into large-scale violence. But in the process of preventing violence, the interrupters also have moral confusion and entanglements. The enemies they intervene in are familiar friends. They can understand people's pain, but they must prevent them from resisting because of their pain.
