Synopsis of Cesar Chavez

The film tells the life story of Cesar Chavez, a famous American social activist. He was a Mexican-American labor activist and leader of the United Farm Workers union. In the 20th century, he fought for better rights and fair wages for migrant farm workers (people who moved around to find work), and eventually won the sympathy and support of the people across the country. Director Diego Luna said there are many people not just in the world of farm workers but around the world who need great men like Chavez to help them. He hopes the film will draw more attention to the issue of U.S. immigration reform and the many unrepresented communities in some countries. For Diego Luna, cinema is a tool for adapting the world, it is happening now, everywhere.
