Synopsis of The Freshman

A young man from the countryside who entered a city university with the dream of becoming a college football player hopes to be loved by others. He often jumped around the school and shook hands with people while walking with wonderful gestures. However, his pretentious actions aroused disgust among his classmates, who treated him as an idiot. But Harold didn't feel dissatisfied, and instead kept working hard, hoping to one day become a public lover. Seeing his stupid look, Peggy, a girl who lived in the same apartment with him, kindly revealed to him the truth that his classmates had deliberately put a high hat on him in order to take advantage of him and trick him into paying for a treat. When Harold heard what she said, his mood suddenly dropped. But with Peggy's encouragement, Harold cheered up and joined the football club. Soon, Harold's university started a competition with its rival Union University, and Royd could only sit on the bench and worry. With only three minutes left before the end of the game, one of the main players was injured and fell to the ground. Harold could no longer sit still and volunteered to play. Unexpectedly, Harold's skills were very superb. He ran all over the court and risked his own life, finally turning the team into victory. The stadium burst into cheers, but at this moment, Harold fainted in Peggy's arms.
