# Synopsis of The Children of Huang Shi

British journalist George Hook (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers) sneaked into Nanjing, intending to make the atrocities committed by the Japanese army public to the world. However, he was discovered by the Japanese army. When he was about to be beheaded, he was rescued by a Chinese guerrilla, Chen Hansheng (played by Chow Yun-fat). He Ke also met Li (played by Radha Mitchell), a foreign doctor in the field. He Ke moved to Huangshi and lived with more than 60 orphans. The children have been tortured by the war, and they are resistant to and even disrespectful of foreigners. However, as time passed, He Ke's enthusiasm and kindness moved the children, and their lives and surrounding environment improved greatly in just a few months. Fortunately, the kindhearted Mrs. Wang (played by Michelle Yeoh) helped. Life is gradually getting on a stable track, and the pace of war is gradually approaching. He Ke, Han Sheng and Li decided to take the children to Shandan, an inaccessible place. No matter how difficult the journey was, even the death of their companions could not stop them.
