Synopsis of A Fei Story
"Non's Story" is set in Glasgow in the 1970s, where Ned is a curse word used by people there to refer to "uneducated little Abby". The protagonist of the film, John, is a promising young man, but the path he chooses is not his own. For director Peter Mullan, the subject matter is personal, but it is not an autobiographical film. The film won the Best Film Golden Shell and Best Actor awards at the 2010 San Bastian Film Festival in Spain. The film is Mulan's first production in eight years after "The Brothel Sisters" won the Venice Golden Lion. It had previously been unfortunately rejected in Venice and was also well received in Toronto.
