Synopsis of Red Army
"Red Army" is a film about the Red Army ice hockey team during the sports heyday of the former Soviet Union. Told from the perspective of captain Slava Fetisov. The story depicts his dramatic transformation from a national hero to a national political enemy. From the Soviet Union to Russia, the film explores how sports truly reflect social and cultural movements, and the rise and fall of the Red Army ice hockey team also reflects the changes in the former Soviet regime.
