Synopsis of Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets
The young man Hideaki Kitamura (played by Hideaki Sasaki) lives in a family full of despair and decay. The 48-year-old father (played by Masaharu Saito) was a senior soldier in the army. After retiring from the army, he stayed at home all day doing nothing, indulging in the depraved pleasure of self-destruction; the grandmother (played by Tanaka Biiko) is elderly, does not care about housework, and also steals. The younger sister (played by Yukiko Kobayashi) has no communication with the people around her, but she develops an unusually close relationship with her beloved rabbit.
