Synopsis of Johnny Got His Gun

The story took place during World War I. Johnny (Timothy Bottoms) was an ordinary American youth who picked up his gun and went to the battlefield with the intention of serving his motherland. Unfortunately, in the brutal war, Johnny was seriously injured, lost his handsome face, and completely lost his ability to move. Johnny was severely mutilated and was sent to the Army Hospital. His longing for his relatives supported Johnny through nights full of pain and despair. Fosse (Diane Varsi) is a nurse in the hospital responsible for taking care of Johnny. Because Johnny's vocal cords were damaged and unable to speak, Fox used Morse code to talk to her. The kind and gentle Fosse gradually awakened Johnny's inner desire for survival, but soon after, Fosse disappeared.
