Synopsis of I Am Slave

Based on the true experience of Mende Nazer, it tells the story of a 12-year-old Sudanese girl who was kidnapped and sold into slavery. She worked as a slave in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, for six years before being sent to London. Although she changed her name, her passport was confiscated and her master told her that her father would be killed if she tried to seek help from the authorities. Fortunately, a sympathetic person gave her hope of returning to Sudan to reunite with her family. The film attempts to draw the audience's attention to the slave issue. According to the subtitles at the end of the film, there are still about 5,000 people living as slaves in the UK.
