Synopsis of The Swimmer

One hot afternoon, a man appeared in a forest wearing only swimming trunks. Then he hurried to the swimming pool, plunged in, and swam to his heart's content. The man's name was Ned, and the owner of the swimming pool and his neighbors were all familiar with him.
