Synopsis of Oiran
During the Edo period in Japan, Yoshiwara Yuguo, where geishas gathered, was bustling with traffic and very prosperous. Rich merchants spend money like water, just to win a smile from a beautiful woman. The eight-year-old girl came to the Yoshihara Tamakiku House and was named Qingye. The top oiran of the Toyo Tamaki House, Sōhi (played by Miho Kanno), was responsible for training this rebellious little girl. In order to leave this place of fireworks as soon as possible, Qingye concentrated on training, hoping to become the Yoshihara Oiran as soon as possible and escape unscathed. Ten years have passed in the blink of an eye. Qingye (played by Anna Tsuchiya) has both sex and art, and has become Yoshihara's number one courtesan, and changed her name to Higurashi. However, she has not changed her stubborn nature at this time, and treats the wealthy but arrogant and unreasonable guests with disdain. The samurai Kuranosuke (played by Shiina Kihei) fell in love with Higurashi and wanted to take her as his wife, but Higurashi made him an almost impossible condition... This film is adapted from the comic book of the same name by Anno Yuko.
