Synopsis of Flight

Captain Vip Whitaker (Denzel Washington) drives Flight 227 away from Orlando. But while passing through the clouds, the plane encountered an unexpected malfunction. In an emergency, the experienced Vip made an emergency landing in the open space at the door of a small church. Vip miraculously took control of the plane and everyone returned safely to the ground. Vipu became a national hero after the accident. However, the FAA later launched an investigation into the flight accident and found that the truth behind the accident was actually related to Vip's drug and alcohol abuse. Is he a hero or a prisoner? Can Vip maintain his heroic image? The film was nominated for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay at the 85th Academy Awards, as well as Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama at the 70th Golden Globe Awards. The cost of a "landing flight" was only US$31 million, which is the lowest-cost movie ever produced by director Robert Zemegis since his debut in 1978.
