Synopsis of Lonely Are the Brave

The story tells about the wandering cowboy John. Burns returns to his hometown and visits the good girl Bundy he once loved, and learns that she has married her best friend Paul. But Paul was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison for illegally crossing the U.S./Mexico border. Burns, who can always escape from prison easily, planned to go to the prison himself to help his friend escape. After he managed to get into prison, he found that his old friend did not want to escape, so he had no choice but to escape on his own. After preparing horses and food, he evaded the pursuit of modern police forces on the mountain roads he was familiar with. In the endless barren mountains and ridges, a cat-and-mouse game between old-fashioned cowboys and modern police forces unfolds.
