Synopsis of Tristan + Isolde

In the Middle Ages, the Roman Empire was destroyed and various forces divided and occupied England. The King of Ireland took the opportunity to gather forces and watched with eager eyes. The ambitious King Mark (Rufus Sewell) hopes to achieve the great cause of unification with the help of the legendary knight Tristan (James Franco). After losing his parents Tristan, he was carefully raised by King Mark and loved his father and son. In order to divide the various tribes in England, the Irish king decided to hold an all-English knight competition with his daughter as the prize. Tristan wins the princess for King Mark, but is struck by lightning when he sees her true face. It turns out that he was seriously injured during the attack on Ireland and was taken care of by the mysterious Irish woman Isolde (Sophia Myles). The two fell in love, but had to separate for the sake of reunification. Whether for the sake of national peace or for the sake of nurturing love, Tristan and Isolde cannot continue their romance. How will they suppress this enthusiasm? And did the Irish King's conspiracy bring obstacles to King Mark's unification?
