Synopsis of Cold Mountain

During the American Civil War, soldier Inman (played by Jude Law) was disheartened by successive battles and the retreat of the southern army. In order to see his lover Ada (Nicole Kidman) again, he left the army and embarked on the long journey home. In his hometown, the remote town of Lengshan, Ada also suffered from the torture of life and the pain of waiting. The death of her father and the departure of her slaves made the life of the pampered Ada unsustainable. With the help of mountain girl Ruby Thewes (played by Renée Zellweger), Ada gradually learned to struggle against the rough and sharp life around her, looking forward to Inman's return. Through the continuous war, Cold Mountain is the only connection between them. Here, even if all the faith paradises in the past have been shattered, you can still heal your wounds and relieve pain.
