Synopsis of Two Rode Together
In a small town, Sheriff McKay (played by James Stewart) lives a corrupt life, hanging out with the bar owner's wife all day long and collecting protection fees. Jim Gary (Richard Widmark), a close friend of the Cavalry, comes to him for help in rescuing a group of white people kidnapped by the Comanche Indians many years ago. He is acquainted with the Comanche chief Quinaba and rescues them. The hostages must pay US$5,000 each. The two rescued the little boy Kuai Lang and the Spanish woman Elena (played by Shirley Jones), but Shi Niu was dissatisfied and chased them, but was shot dead by McKay. Back at the fort, no one recognized Kuai Lang as their child, and he was finally adopted by Mrs. McCanlay. Everyone rejected Elena. Quick Wolf killed Mrs. McCanley when he was released and was executed by the pioneers. Before he died, Marty realized that it was her brother. Elena had to leave. Before leaving, McKay realized that he had fallen in love with her, so he followed her. This film describes a world of excessive debauchery, where humanity and morality do not exist. The story is rich but lacks vivid persuasion.
