Synopsis of Carmen Comes Home
Japan's first color feature film. Kinoshita's Carmen is as famous in China as Bizet's Carmen - because she is a stripper with a straight belly. This funny musical satirizes the customs of post-war society, and like Kinoshita's first work "The Lively Port", continues to poke fun at the stereotypes of city people and country people. It is said that Carmen made a name for herself in the big city and became a striptease star, but she could not change her honest character. She went back to her hometown to visit relatives with her comrade girlfriend, and she was very impressive, but the country people couldn't accept her and ostracized them. They had no choice but to devote themselves to their work and give full play to their talents.
