Synopsis of On the Road

Purcell (played by Sam Riley) is a young writer seeking inspiration and longing for travel. Dean Moriarty (played by Garrett Hedlund) is a romantic and has been to prison several times. A restless boy, he also married a 16-year-old promiscuous girl Marylou (Kristen Stewart). However, Purcell liked Dean's passionate life very much, and Dean admired Purcell's grace and knowledge. After the three young people who were obsessed with freedom got acquainted, they soon decided to leave their lives behind and walk on the road together. They hitchhiked, smoked marijuana, sang while traveling, and meditated while drunk. On the highway that crosses the east and west of the United States, let yourself be wild, pursue yourself, and burn your youth. The film is adapted from the autobiographical novel of the same name by American writer Jack Kerouac, which is regarded as the bible of the "crossed generation".
